Using e-Mail
Our customers are on the 1and1 servers;
we also have info for GJWebs and Bluehost as a courtesy.
If
you are our customer, and desire to use e-mail, you may do it via Outlook,
Outlook Express, or any of the other mail packages. Instructions
follow.
To use our server's spam filter:
-
e-mail us with the account for which you want the filter
activated.
-
Tell us which level of filtering you
want: low, medium, or high. It is recommended you start
with "low" or "medium."
-
You will receive a daily e-mail from the
host if you have any spam that was caught and placed into your spam
folder. To get to your spam folder, you'll need to sign on
manually at
webmail.1and1.com
and click on the "spam" folder after login. Based upon how much
spam is/isn't being caught, you may want to revise the level of
filtering. Just send us an e-mail to let us know.
To
get mail directly (not using a client such as Outlook, or checking the
spam folder):
-
Bring up your browser; for
most customers, this will be Internet Explorer.
-
1and1 (our server): Go to
webmail.1and1.com.
GJwebs: Go to http://mysite.com/webmail.
("mysite.com" will be the URL to your site, and may end in
".net," instead.)
Bluehost: Go to http://mail.mysite.com.
("mysite.com" will be the URL to your site, and may end in
".net," instead.)
Enter the username and password we provided to you. (The
username is your e-mail address.)
From there, use the "Inbox" to read
your messages, or "Compose" to send messages.
To
use Microsoft Outlook (Outlook Express follows below):
-
Start Outlook
-
Click on the following: Tools>E-mail accounts>Add a new e-mail
account. Select "POP3," then click "Next" to get to the
"Accounts" box.

Click
on "Connection" and enter fields as needed for your internet access.

your host for
a specified time. This is particularly useful if you are
accessing your e-mail from multiple computers and you want copies of
each e-mail download on each of your computers.
